Music to my ears
Stacey’s musical passions were harvested early with sixteen years of study in Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz Dance, tap and couple with a life time of achievements in the sports industry. Her musically inclined Philadelphia-based family which includes solo recording artist and diva Patti Labelle, and recording gospel artist Reverend Timothy Wright were early inspirations which steered Stacey into developing her own vocal talent. Initially she was vocally trained by Music Genius, Howard Smith Sr. father of gospel recording artist Howard Smith (The Hawkins Family), and later by Mattie Moss Clark, mother of The Clark Sister, and Barbara Ward Farmer. With Jewish blood running in her veins, Stacey dedicated 17yrs. as a member and assistant choir director of The New Jersey Mass Choir, Church of God In Christ 1st Jurisdiction and served six years as recording secretary. Later credits: Pastor Hezekiah Walker and Kirk Franklin.
Presently she is working on innovative ventures with producer Lil Jon, and newly managing the 2006 Black Music Award Winners The Next Movement Show. “I want to thank Mr. Michael Jackson for encouraging me in 1994 at Treasure Island, Las Vegas, Nevada. You are so talented and blessed Bo Watson (Midnight Star) and Mr. Brian McKnight. Mr. Sean Puffy Coombs will never run out of talent, and to Whitney-I know that you ‘can do all things’ through Jesus Christ who strengthens you. JayZ (Jigga), I hope to see you playing in the World Series of Poker one day soon!”
Top of her game
Her background was diverse through performing arts, sports and athletics which marked the beginnings of an “All Around” athletic superstar and “All American” in basketball and track and field. Since childhood she idolized Julius Erving, “Dr. J.” and currently does business dealing with The Doc. Florence Griffith Joyner was like a big sister to Stacey until her untimely passing in 1998. “Flo Jo will never be forgotten, she taught woman athletes so many things, but she should us how to be, look, and feel beautiful when competing in sports.”
Highlights of a lifetime
If Stacey Strasky ever had to replay the film of her life, she would need two more lifetimes to review it. Stacey’s innovative marketing strategy and successful contract negotiations promote RESPECT and admiration from clients in the NBA, NFL, Boxing, Poker, Entertainment and Hollywood Actors, family and friends all over the world.
Recognized achievements further boosted her induction as State of New Jersey Delegate into the Business Women’s Network (BWNI) headed by Edie Frasier Oppenheim, and headquarter out of Washington, DC. Because of her relationship with many national organizations, she is given credit for their signing of the MUA with government officials during the 2000 Intercontinental Business Women’s Network Convention, where more than 33 countries were represented.
For one term Stacey performed her duty as a contract consultant working with government agencies and affiliates of BWNI. With great vision she tied together the communities of corporate, sports, entertainment, and government, and was invited to the farewell brunch of former president Mr. Bill Clinton and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. Consequently, Stacey received an invitation to the first inauguration of George W. Bush.
Stacey’s dedication and contributions to Olympic Development, USA Track and Field Association, University of Pennsylvania Penn Relays, World Special Olympics, The United Negro College Fund, The Annual UNCF Telethon, Talk Radio, Television and Movie Industry are as she humbly says, “mile markers” as she puts the distance between herself and dreamers. She is UNEQUALED.
On the “Flip Side” of things, Stacey Strasky showed the world her BEST HAND. In 2005 with as little as two days of personal training, Stacey proved to the world that she is a pure blood competitor as she tied for 10th place at a World Series of Poker event at Harrah’s in Atlantic City New Jersey. Three months later she completed the challenge and became a Champion and the first African American woman to win a No-Limit Hold’em Tournament. Since then she has become a respected threat tournaments and in no-limit cash games and plans to play in the “Big Game” with Phil Ivey, Johnny Chan, and 2006 World Series of Poker sponsor, Doyle Brunson who sponsored Stacey. She has taken Las Vegas and the world by surprise as she quietly finds herself with all of the chips in the end. She endearingly thanks Ro Chopra for giving her a new passion, and for teaching her the game.
Presently she is putting together a team for the 2007 World Series of Poker Championship which may include Dr. J Erving, 50 Cent, Ludacris, Snoop, Morris Chestnut and recognized professional poker players from around the globe.
She admires greatly her youngest brother Chris Chambers’ contribution to track and field and football, cousin Ron Dayne’s contributions to track and field and football, and late uncle Bo Robinson (former pro football player).
Stacey represents some of the best talent in the world of Sports and Entertainment and thanks God for blessing her with the gift of recognizing TRUE TALENT.
